What P0626 usually means
P0626 is the high-input sibling to P0625. Instead of a field circuit that is being dragged low, the module sees the field/F-terminal side biased high. Depending on the charging strategy, that can reflect an open circuit, faulty feedback, or a regulator problem that can let charging become erratic or even trend high. It is one of those codes where people often replace an alternator without first deciding whether the circuit is actually open, overactive, or simply being misread.
